We are still in the midst of the greatest 50 days of the year for any football fan. October 8 marked day one of 50 consecutive days of either FBS or NFL football. What a time to be alive! For all of the evil things the Mouse does, one thing that is right about all of this is ESPN gobbling up the TV rights to Conference USA, the Fun Belt, and the MAC. Instead of putting those games on ESPN+ on Saturdays, they did the right thing for everyone and gave us mid-week football. The ESPN money may have destroyed the Pac-12, but it also gave us this.
We have been spoiled in recent weeks with Power Five flair on Thursday nights. We don't have any Power Five this Thursday, but we still have a ranked team. James Madison heads to Huntington to take on Marshall. We also have Rice heading up to Tulsa in a CUSA tilt. There's still fun to be had on Thursday! We'll need it since tomorrow is a showdown slate with only one game on Friday.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/19/23, locking at 7 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Jordan McCloud, James Madison ($7,700)
McCloud left South Florida for the hills of Virginia and his betting on himself has paid off. McCloud has 14 touchdowns to only three interceptions and has at least 200 passing yards in every game except for the opener against Bucknell. McCloud doesn't run as much as he did at USF, but he is far more accurate and makes fewer mistakes. The upside isn't quite as high, but the end results are largely the same.
JT Daniels, Rice ($7,400)
What a long, strange trip it was for Daniels to wind up in Houston playing for Rice. It seems like an eternity ago that he was a can't-miss prospect at USC. Now he's making fools of Conference USA defenses. Daniels has topped 400 passing yards twice in six games so far this year. Tulsa's pass defense hasn't been horrible, but it hasn't been good either. Daniels feels underpriced for the upside he possesses.
Also consider: Braylon Braxton, Tulsa ($8,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Rasheen Ali, Marshall ($6,700)
James Madison has a strong defense, but I believe that's already baked into Ali's price. Just when you thought he couldn't do more than he already is, Ali hauled in four passes for 71 yards against Georgia State last week. Ali has scored multiple touchdowns in every game except the North Carolina State game. That's right...he even scored a pair on the Hokies. Ali has been tested by tough defenses this year and still comes out with a good stat line. Expect the same here, but his upside isn't as high.
Kaelon Black, James Madison ($5,000)
McCloud gets a lot of the accolades, but Black's workload is massive for someone priced in this range. Last week was the first game since the opener against Bucknell that he didn't get at least 15 touches (he had 14). Black is very active in the passing game and always nets double-digit carries. He's the second option on this offense and has no business being priced this low.
Also consider: Anthony Watkins, Tulsa ($6,200); Dean Connors, Rice ($4,800)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Luke McCaffrey, Rice ($6,900)
Yes, he's from that McCaffrey family. Yes, he was a quarterback at Nebraska many years ago. McCaffrey is reborn in Houston as a receiver and will likely follow his father's footsteps to the NFL. The arrival of JT Daniels has caused a spike in McCaffrey's numbers. He's the first guy that Daniels looks to in almost every situation. The upside is huge against Tulsa and their awful pass defense.
Elijah Sarratt, James Madison ($3,400)
Sarratt has become the go-to receiver for McCloud. He has 20 receptions over the last four games for 304 yards and three touchdowns...and he's this cheap. This is an epic pricing failure on the part of DraftKings, but it's not a crime to take advantage of it. I only wish that it was on a slate where we really needed it.
Darryle Simmons, Marshall ($3,300)
I'm not just being cheap. I promise. Simmons has 18 receptions over the last three games alone. He hasn't found the end zone yet, but he has been the most targeted Marshall wideout in that span. Ali still sees a ton of targets, but that's okay. Simmons is putting up double-figure DraftKings points at a stupidly cheap price.
Also consider: Marquis Shoulders, Tulsa ($6,500); Rawson MacNeill, Rice ($4,600); Cade Conley, Marshall ($4,500); Reggie Brown, James Madison ($3,700)
DraftKings CFB Stacks
Rice - Tulsa's pass defense is one of the worst in the country and the Owls have a former USC top recruit at the helm. This begs to be stacked! Daniels and McCaffrey are must-haves. Dean Connors is targeted enough out of the backfield and will likely be a lesser-used component of this offense. Rawson MacNeill racked up a team-high 15 targets in the loss to UConn in Rice's last game in Week 6.
Also consider: Tulsa, James Madison
