We just completed the first week of the greatest 50 days of the year for any football fan. Last Wednesday marked day one of 50 consecutive days of either FBS or NFL football. What a time to be alive! For all of the evil things the Mouse does, one thing that is right about all of this is ESPN gobbling up the TV rights to Conference USA, the Fun Belt, and the MAC. Instead of putting those games on ESPN+ on Saturdays, they did the right thing for everyone and gave us mid-week football. The ESPN money may have destroyed the Pac-12, but it also gave us this as a consolation prize.

We start tonight off in the Liberty Bowl with Tulane heading to Memphis. An hour later, Fresno heads up to the mountains to take on Utah State. We end this in another mountainous region with Stanford heading to Boulder. This is going to be fun!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/13/23, locking at 7 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado ($9,500)

I was hoping that Sanders wouldn't be this expensive, but I get it. My issue is that he is likely going to lose points for rushing yards because his line can't protect him. Unless Sanders has a multi-touchdown game, he's a bust. It's tough because we know that Sanders is the most talented player on the slate. I can see fading him in a GPP if you can find someone with more upside. It's tough on a three-game slate.

Ashton Daniels, Stanford ($5,200)

Colorado's secondary gets a big boost with Shiloh Sanders and Travis Hunter returning, but they gave up chunk plays before both of them got hurt as well. Don't expect a monster game from Daniels. He still makes enough mistakes that a single-digit finish is possible. However, he might approach 20 against a Colorado defense that has had some issues this year. He's worth the risk in GPP formats.

Also consider: Logan Fife, Fresno State ($7,700); Cooper Legas, Utah State ($5,300)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Blake Watson, Memphis ($7,000)

Watson has two 100-yard games this year, but I'm here for the receptions. Watson has 26 receptions in five games. That's five free points just on the catches alone, not counting yardage and touchdowns. The Tulane run defense has been pretty good, but I trust Watson to do enough through the air to keep us happy. Watson has at least 28 DraftKings points in four of his five games.

Makhi Hughes, Tulane ($5,500)

It took them a bit, but Tulane seems to have found a suitable replacement for Tyjae Spears. Hughes ran for 123 yards against UAB before the bye. He piled up 92 tough yards against Mississippi earlier in the season, so that total against UAB isn't a fluke. Memphis has allowed 644 yards rushing in the last three games alone. Hughes might be my favorite play on the whole slate.

Also consider: Davon Booth, Utah State ($5,400); E.J. Smith, Stanford ($4,800); Alton McCaskill, Colorado ($3,300)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Terrell Vaughn, Utah State ($7,000)

Vaughn has three games with double-digit receptions so far this year and topped 100 yards against both James Madison and Colorado State. As I said last week, Cooper Legas is a very good and very capable quarterback. The Aggies aren't done yet.

Roc Taylor, Memphis ($5,600)

Seth Henigan and the Memphis offense are finally starting to move the ball with regularity. Taylor has 12 receptions for 245 yards and a touchdown in those two games. He's the most explosive Memphis receiver and he comes in at a big discount over some others. The Fresno receivers struggled some with Logan Fife under center when Mikey Keene went down, so I'm looking elsewhere.

Benjamin Yurosek, Stanford ($5,000)

Receivers have burned Colorado this year, but with them getting both Hunter and Shiloh Sanders back, I expect Yurosek to be the sneaky play here. He's more wide receiver than tight end anyway. He drew the donut against Oregon. That's not happening again.

Colorado

Stanford's defense has been uncharacteristically bad this year. It all starts with Sanders. Pick any two receivers and use Alton McCaskill for value. Deion Sanders said McCaskill will be more involved in the offense this week, and if he's anywhere near as good as he was at Houston, he's the best back on a team full of good ones.
