This is the last day of bowl season. It has gone by too quickly. The last hurrah for the 2022 season comes up next week, but now we have our last college football for an entire week. That's rough, but it helps get us prepared for the barren wasteland that is the offseason. At least we have the transfer portal to keep us occupied.
We start off in Tampa with the ReliaQuest Bowl between Illinois and Mississippi State. We have two games coming up an hour later with the Cheez-It Bowl between Purdue and LSU. The other game is the Cotton Bowl in Jerry World between USC and Tulane. We finish off in Pasadena with the Rose Bowl between Penn State and Utah. Let's finish off this season with a bang!
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/2/23, locking at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams, USC ($8,600)
Even when USC didn't play well at times this season, Williams still put up numbers. He had at least 29 DraftKings points in the last seven games of the season. Yes, the Heisman curse might be a real thing. The hamstring injury might also be real. Do you know what else is real? His arm talent. Even though Williams may be limited running the ball, it's not like USC was letting him tuck and run a lot anyway. Most of the output from Williams came from his passing.
Michael Pratt, Tulane ($7,200)
Pratt had a few big games for the Green Wave this year and could be in for another one here. USC's defense was destroyed by Cam Rising twice against Utah. Pratt is very similar in skill set to Rising. Pratt topped 40 DraftKings points in two of the last three games, leading Tulane to its first conference title since 1998. The Wave have at least a puncher's chance at closing this out with a Cotton Bowl win.
Also consider: Cameron Rising, Utah ($7,500); Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($7,000); Austin Burton, Purdue ($5,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Tyjae Spears, Tulane ($6,900)
Spears has seven consecutive 100-yard rushing games, culminating in a season-best 199 yards in the American Conference Championship win over Central Florida. His eighth straight should come here against the suspect-at-best Trojans defense.
Jo'quavious Marks, Mississippi State ($5,800)
I don't think the Bulldogs will be very far removed from the Mike Leach offense in this game, meaning that Marks has a very high floor due to the amount of work he gets in the passing game. Marks caught 45 passes this season despite splitting time with Dillon Johnson for much of the season. Johnson has entered the transfer portal, so Marks should close out with a heavy workload.
Also consider: Devin Mockobee, Purdue ($6,600); Ja'Quinden Jackson, Utah ($5,300); Reggie Love III, Illinois ($5,200)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Tahj Washington, USC ($6,700)
Jordan Addison is out for this game. So is Michael Jackson. That leaves Washington as the de-facto number-one receiver in a high-powered passing game. Mario Williams is a solid option, too, but it seems like Williams has a better rapport with Tahj right now. If you want a cheap piece of the USC offense, I really like Brenden Rice for the price.
Malik Nabers, LSU ($6,500)
There is more than enough value to stack up on receivers on this slate. Washington will see a lot more targets. So will Nabers for the same reason. As expected, Kayshon Boutte is sitting out to prepare for the draft. Nabers is going to soak up most, if not all, of Boutte's targets. Jaray Jenkins is a nice option if you need another cheaper receiver.
Thomas Yassmin, Utah ($5,100)
Utah is a tight end-centric offense no matter who is playing the position. Both Brant Kuithe and Dalton Kincaid are out, so that leaves Yassmin as the starting tight end. He looks the part of the next great Utah tight end. He has scored a touchdown in four straight games even with Kincaid playing. The sky is the limit as the focal point of this passing game for Yassmin.
Also consider: Shae Wyatt, Tulane ($5,900); Duece Watts, Tulane ($5,500); Theo Johnson, Penn State ($4,200)
