It's critically important to take stock of which teams have something to play for with only two days left in the NBA regular season. Identifying these teams is a huge key because they are the ones who we can count on their starters and rotation players to play their normal allotment of minutes. The Timberwolves and Clippers are the two teams on this slate who fit that criterion, as they are both still looking to improve their seeding at the bottom of the Western Conference. We'll see a lot of funky scratches and abnormal starting lineups from the other four teams on the slate, so be ready to pivot on a dime and make sure you're on your computer and ready to make swaps with the news. Let's get to it.
Here is my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 4/8/23. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Anthony Edwards, vs. SAS (FD: $9,300, DK: $8,400)
The Wolves have every reason in the world to try to win their last two games, as they own the tiebreaker over the Lakers, Pelicans, and Thunder and would love to claim the #7 seed to get the easier path in the play-in tournament. They need to win out and get some help from other squads for that to happen. Minnesota's studs in Edwards, Towns, and Gobert should all get as many minutes as they can handle, and against the Spurs, that should translate to a fantasy gold mine.
The Wolves have oddly struggled against the worst teams in the NBA this season, but if they can't put up numbers tonight, they might as well pack the season in. The Spurs allow the most fantasy points per game to opposing teams and rank dead-last in defensive efficiency. They also allow the second-most fantasy points per game to shooting guards, specifically. Load up on Edwards and the Wolves this afternoon.
Kris Dunn, vs. DEN (FD: $6,300, DK: $6,900)
Our viable options at point guard include Dunn, Mike Conley, and potentially an overpriced Russell Westbrook (if there are lineup scratches for the Clippers). I'm going with Dunn on the extremely short-handed Jazz tonight, as he should see a boatload of minutes, and he has been relatively productive down the stretch when given the opportunity. He put up 44.25 DK points and 42 DK points over his last two games with at least 30 minutes, which he should see tonight. Dunn might be the best player on the team in its current form, as Markkanen, Horton-Tucker, Olynyk, Kessler, Clarkson, and Sexton will all be out today.
Mike Conley, vs. SAS (FD: $5,800, DK: $6,700)
Also consider: Johnny Juzang, Tre Jones, Ochai Agbaji

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Luka Samanic, vs. DEN (FD: $4,700, DK: $4,900)
Yeah...we're at the point of the NBA season when even the most experienced writers and analysts have to do a quick Pro Basketball Reference lookup to see what's up with an end-of-the-bench player. Due to all the players already ruled out for the Jazz, we can project the former 2019 first-round pick by the Spurs to start and play at least 30 minutes today. He has played five games for the Jazz this year and has exceeded salary-based expectations in two of the three games in which he played at least 22 minutes. He should play over 30 minutes this afternoon and has a great chance to provide value for us.
Karl-Anthony Towns, vs. SAS (FD: $8,300, $DK: 8,300)
As stated in the Edwards blurb, the Wolves are one of two teams playing for something this afternoon. That means we can feel comfortable getting to a still-underpriced KAT in the best fantasy environment a player can have. Towns has been underwhelming lately as he has struggled with his shot and foul trouble, but we know what he's capable of, and we also know his chances of hitting a ceiling game go way up in a matchup such as this one. The Spurs allow the most fantasy points per game overall and to power forwards, and they allow the second-most fantasy points per game to centers.
Also consider: Simone Fontecchio, Kyle Anderson, Kawhi Leonard, Jaden McDaniels, Juan Toscano-Anderson
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Rudy Gobert, vs. SAS (FD: $7,400, DK: $8,200)
You probably want to try to avoid playing Edwards, Towns, and Gobert together in too many lineups as there is some negative correlation between the big men, but the notorious Frenchman is too cheap, and the rest of the position is too uninspiring not to like him today. Gobert has been consistent lately, but he has failed to exceed salary-based expectations in four straight games, as his last big game came on 3/27 when he put up 46.5 DK points on the Kings. He should have another one coming today, though, as the Spurs are the most forgiving team in the NBA regarding allowing fantasy points to opposing centers.
Also consider: Udoka Azubuike, Zach Collins, Ivica Zubac, Damian Jones
