And then there were two. Two left playing anyway. The Mets and Padres are the only teams that went all three games in the new Wild Card Round.
For showdown mode on DraftKings, we pick one captain who costs 1.5x his normal salary, but he also scores 1.5x the points. We must have at least one player from each team and relievers are fair game if you think you have a bead on which relievers will be used. On FanDuel, the format is a bit different. No player salaries are multiplied, but you get one MVP who scores double points and one start that scores 1.5x points along with three utility slots. Oh...and it's only hitters.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/9/22. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. MLB DFS Captain Options
Joe Musgrove ($16,200)
Musgrove had a miserable August, but he righted the ship over his last four starts. Musgrove only allowed one run over 22 innings in his last four starts combined with 27 strikeouts. They weren't just against bums either. He faced both the Cardinals and the Dodgers in that span. Considering Bassitt's troubles with San Diego this season and the rough end to the season, Musgrove is the guy I want if I'm using a pitcher.
Francisco Lindor ($13,200 DK; $8,500 FD)
If you don't trust Musgrove's strong end to the season, trust Lindor's BvP against him. Lindor is 6-for-17 in his career against Musgrove with a pair of doubles and a pair of homers. Lindor gives a solid discount on DK for a guy who hit double-digit fantasy points in his last two games of the regular season and once in this series.
Star/MVP options: Manny Machado ($14,700 DK; $9,500 FD); Josh Bell ($9,900 DK; $7,500 FD)

DraftKings/FanDuel DFS Utility Options
Along with the others I consider for the captain, these can be good utility plays as well.
Josh Bell ($6,600 DK; $7,500 FD)
Bell showed signs of life in this series and both of his career hits against Chris Bassitt have left the yard. I really enjoy the discount on DK for Bell, who homered in the first game of this series and reached base twice yesterday.
Starling Marte ($9,200 DK; $7,000 FD)
Marte swiped two bags in Game 1 and likely would have been running again yesterday had he reached base. Speed is underrated as everyone chases the homers, but Marte can do a little of both and he's batting leadoff.
Trent Grisham ($4,600 DK; $5,500 FD)
DK usually screws up the price on someone. In this series, it's Grisham. He was quiet or downright miserable during the regular season, depending on who you ask. Grisham has reintroduced himself to Padres fans with homers in each of the first two games of this series while scoring four of the Padres' 10 runs in the first two games. I'll ride the hot bat!
Other Options: Pete Alonso ($9,400 DK; $9,000 FD); Jurickson Profar ($7,200 DK; $6,000 FD); Eduardo Escobar ($7,600 DK; $6,500 FD)
