According to Ian Rapoport, Doug Martin expects to plays today at home against the undefeated Carolina Panthers despite being limited in practice this week with knee and quad injuries. Doug Martin has 176 yards on 46 carries so far this season with zero touchdowns.
The Panthers defense has been middle-of-the-pack in regards to allowing fantasy points to running backs, ranking 16th so far this season. Martin is still the Buccaneers' lead back and should be a nice flex option today, but it will likely take a touchdown for him to have a 15+ point week.
Doug Martin's active status tempers any excitement from Charles Sims owners who may have been hoping for him to be an option in PPR leagues this week. This is also a small boost for Jameis Winston who likely would have struggled with no threat in the running game.
