Dorian Finney-Smith (SF/PF, DAL): Week 16 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: This is not about DFS, but it is actually about DFS, if you know what I mean. No daily fantasy sports, but definitely Dorian Finney-Smith, that is. DFS has started 40 games this season, which is to say DFS has started all games he's played this season for the now ramping-up Mavs. Dorian is playing more minutes per game than he had in his previous four seasons as a pro, and he's also topping all of his career averages this season. Low impact when compared to the likes of Luka and Kristaps, surely, but definitely a great improvement to watch him achieve nightly.

Not happy enough with starting every game, DFS is logging a ridiculous 32 MPG in 2021, which is borderline insane. While 63 players league-wide are staying on the court for as many rounds as DFS, he's one of only 10 guys doing so while boasting a usage rate below 20%. You must do something very well to stay on the court that much time using so little possessions, am I right? And he is, in fact, doing it.

DFS is putting up a season-long 8-5-1 line, which you'd think is not anything otherworldly until you pair it with his 1.5+ (1.8) 3PG and his low usage. DFS is one of two players (Robert Covington) with usage rates below 15% putting up those numbers. Dorian has reached 25+ FP in his last four games, all of them this month, averaging a neat 13-7-2-1-1 insanely stuffed line on a paltry 14% usage rate. This man has scored 2+ triples in all of his last seven games going back to Mar. 29, is not leaving Dallas' starting lineups any time soon, and is a great spot-up three-point maker with rebounding upside and virtually no TOs, making him a great 9-cat WW target. Must-have for those in the slightest of deep leagues ROS.
