ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks was a popular pick to have a big Week 16 showing since the Packers were without Christian Watson and Jayden Reed. Unfortunately, a chest injury ended Wicks' day early, which limited his numbers in that contest against the Carolina Panthers.
On the bright side, Wicks made the most of the time that he was on the field, catching both of his targets for 29 yards and a touchdown, his first score since Week 2. The rookie fifth-round pick out of Virginia has had some impressive flashes this season and has showcased why he's going to be a key piece of the 2024 Packers offense.
Up next for the Packers is a meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. While Wicks had just two catches for 28 yards when these teams last met, the Packers had Watson for that game. If Watson misses his fourth game in a row next week and Wicks is healthy, he's a strong deep-league flex option. He's worth adding off the wire if you need wide receiver help, even if it won't be until later in the week that you'll know whether or not he's worth a lineup spot.
