BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: Many had high hopes for DJ Moore entering the 2023 season. The former Maryland star is the WR8 for the year, averaging 13.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the veteran wide receiver hasn’t been a consistent weekly option for fantasy players. He had 23.1 fantasy points in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos and 45 the following week against the Washington Commanders.
Those two weeks have accounted for 51.1% of Moore’s fantasy production this season. By comparison, the star wide receiver has averaged 8.2 fantasy points per game in the other eight contests. However, the veteran was hampered by the backup quarterback Tyson Bagent. In the four games the rookie quarterback started, Moore has averaged only 7.3 fantasy points per game, scoring fewer than 9.5 in every contest.
Yet, fantasy players had high hopes for the veteran against his former team last week. Unfortunately, he only scored 8.4 fantasy points in the win. Thankfully, Justin Fields should return this week after missing four games with a thumb injury. More importantly, Moore takes on a Detroit Lions defense that has given up 30.4 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, the 10th-most in the NFL. The former Maryland star is an excellent starting option.
