BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 44% of leagues
ANALYSIS: You might not believe this if you are not too much into middle-of-the-pack teams, but the Grizzlies have put Dillon Brooks on their starting lineup in every game they've played leading up to the AS break. Brooks already started 73-of-73 games last season, which makes this development not that surprising, but still. Brooks is also playing a quite-high 30 MPG, is playing both the SG and SF positions, and although his per-minute numbers are a little bit low that's only because of the large number of minutes he's logging.
Brooks is putting up a league-average 0.91 FP/min this season on 29 games. His counting stats, though, are looking much better because of those more-often-than-not 30 minutes of play he's seeing these days. Going back a month, from Feb. 8 on, Brooks has played 11 games to the tune of 17 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.5 SPG... and most interestingly 2+ 3PG while sustaining a 43 percent shooting from the floor on a massive diet of 15+ FGA per game.
The truth is that Brooks is not the most efficient shooter out there, and his three-pointers don't come in bunches for the number of shots he takes. But at the end of the day, that volume is what is actually saving his value a bit and making him a reasonably good addition for those in slightly deep leagues. Brooks enters the AS break with just 5 total turnovers in the past last games, shooting 95 percent from the free-throw line on 16 combined freebies, and raising his season true shooting percentage to 50% compared to a lower 45% prior to that.
