Dillon Brooks (SG/SF, MEM): Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: You might not believe this if you are not too much into middle-of-the-pack teams, but the Grizzlies have put Dillon Brooks on their starting lineup in every game they've played leading up to the AS break and the one they played right after that. Brooks already started 73-of-73 games last season, which makes this development not that surprising, but still. Brooks is also playing a quite-high 30 MPG, is playing both the SG and SF positions, and although his per-minute numbers are a little bit low that's only because of the large number of minutes he's logging.

Brooks is putting up a league-average 0.90 FP/min this season on 30 games. His counting stats, though, are looking much better because of those more-often-than-not 30 minutes of play he's seeing these days. Going back a month, from Feb. 12 on, Brooks has played 10 games to the tune of 16 PPG, 2+ RPG, 2+ APG, 1.6 SPG... and most interestingly almost 2 3PG while sustaining a 43 percent shooting from the floor on a more than healthy diet of 14+ FGA per game.

The truth is that Brooks is not the most efficient shooter out there, and his three-pointers don't come in bunches for the number of shots he takes. But at the end of the day, that volume is what is actually saving his value a bit and making him a reasonably good addition for those in slightly deep leagues. Brooks entered the break shooting 95 percent from the free-throw line on 16 combined freebies, and raising his season true shooting percentage to 50% compared to a lower 45% prior to that.
