Great news for the unlucky folks who drafted Dez Bryant in the first round of drafts this year! The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is recovering well from his broken right foot. With the Cowboys on a bye this week, Bryant is participating in on-field rehab in hopes of a return next week.
Bryant’s injury looked very bad in Week 1 and many feared he may be lost for the majority of the season. While reports have been conflicting, Bryant has been planning for a best case scenario of returning in Week 7. The Cowboys will be facing the New York Giants next week in an important division game and Bryant’s hopes may be coming true.
The status of Bryant won’t be known until closer to the game and will depend on if he can get through practice next week. The possibility of his return coming this soon is already a great sign and gives us hope he will return with enough time to help fantasy teams attempt to make the playoffs. As great as Bryant is, there will be questions concerning who can throw him the ball when he gets back. Tony Romo is expected to be out another month. The quarterback play of Matt Cassel or Brandon Weeden doesn’t scream excitement but you have to trust Bryant’s elite talent.
