Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown and caught seven passes for 44 yards in Sunday's overtime win vs the Washington Redskins. The rushing total marks a season and career high for Freeman, topping his previous best of 144 yards vs Dallas.
Freeman looked sharp yet again in just his third career start. He has now totaled 262 yards rushing, 177 yards receiving and seven touchdowns in his last three games.
Perhaps even more impressive than the real-world statistics are the fantasy points that Freeman is putting up. In standard league scoring, Freeman has amassed approximately 98 fantasy points in the last three weeks. Those numbers make him the clear-cut number one fantasy running back this season, and the Falcons' favorable schedule makes him one of the most valuable fantasy players in the league.
Many Freeman owners are wondering if his incredible play can keep up. While it's highly unlikely that Freeman remains as productive as he's been lately, fantasy owners shouldn't try to sell high right now. With games against New Orleans, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and the Jacksonville Jaguars still ahead, Freeman his plenty of great matchups to look forward to.
Even with Tevin Coleman healthy and seeing touches, Freeman has proven his worth as the starter and should remain a solid top-10 fantasy running back for the rest of the season.
