The Miami Dolphins running back situation is interesting heading into week 2. Raheem Mostert was declared "Out" ahead of Thursday's game with a chest injury -- and De'Von Achane will be active, but is dealing with an ankle injury he picked up in last Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Meanwhile, veteran Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Jaylen Wright are the two other running backs on Miami's roster, and it looks like at least one of them will get a chance to get significant work in Miami's upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.
Should you start Achane, Wilson, or Wright in week 2? Let's dive in.

Should I Start De'Von Achane for Fantasy Football?
UPDATE: De'Von Achane is officially active for Thursday Night Football.
If Achane plays, you start him. It's pretty simple. Achane has elite speed, tackle breaking ability and instincts, and is capable of ripping off massive gains any time he touches the ball. Achane makes defenders look silly in a variety of ways almost every game he plays.

He is just too dangerous in the open field, and that's exactly where Miami plans on getting him. Even with around 15 touches per game, Achane can put up an impressive statline. Last year Achane dominated against the Bills, scoring double-digit fantasy points in both his games and racking up three touchdowns across those two games.

You can't bench Achane if he starts, especially in PPR. He recorded seven catches last game. He's a sure-fire RB2 with elite upside if he continues to get the volume he did in week 1. Also, Achane looked to not be limited much in practice and was moving well, according to multiple sources who attended the practice.
De’Von Achane practiced today in what appeared to be a lighter walkthrough session.

Should I Start Jeff Wilson Jr. for Fantasy Football?
Wilson Jr. is probably a fine start with Mostert missing time, with upside for more if Achane is limited in any way. Miami wouldn't have kept Wilson on the roster if they planned on Wright having a big role to start the season. Wilson has been solid for the Dolphins when needed and can put up a decent stat line.

Wilson was overshadowed by the star power of Mostert and Achane last year, but he still has the ability to have a nice game. The Dolphins' run blocking excelled in week 1 despite low overall YPC numbers for the running backs. Head coach Mike McDaniel's scheme has always been conducive to running back production as well.
Should I Start Jaylen Wright for Fantasy Football?
It's probably a bit too early. Wright has a tantalizing athletic profile but was a healthy scratch in week 1. While this could be for a variety of reasons, it's probably better to trust the RB that got playing time in week 1 even with Mostert and Achane active. Wright does have big play potential, though.
McDaniel is one of the more creative and unpredictable offensive minds in football, so it wouldn't be the biggest shock if Wright did see significant playing time. However, the potential for a two-ish point performance is too high. It's better to leave Wright on the bench for now.
