BALLER MOVE: Flex candidate in 12+ team leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Remember sike? It's a slang word that was popular among kids in the 1990s. Basically, it means just kidding.
Just when the fantasy community thought that Dameon Pierce had regained his status as leader of the Houston backfield, DeMeco Ryans said "Sike!" and Devin Singletary picked up the majority of the work. The latter earned 16 opportunities against the Jets, while Pierce saw just five. The week prior versus Denver, the numbers were flipped to nine for Singletary and 15 for Pierce.
So who is the running back to roster and play in Houston? The answer appears to still be Singletary, and hopefully, it's not a rotation based on matchups that the coaching staff looks at. He's been the better running back of the pair by most metrics.
The Texans' offense will surely take a step back without quarterback C.J. Stroud. Veteran journeyman Case Keenum will get the start as the team pushes to keep their playoff hopes alive. The 35-year-old hasn't started a game since 2021 when he was a member of the Cleveland Browns. He's since also spent time in Buffalo (with Singletary, coincidentally).
The Texans could lean more on the running game against Tennessee in Week 15. That's the strong suit of the Titans' defense, although they'll be without Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Singletary is worth a flex spot in most leagues, and ideally, he plays the role of lead back once again.
