BALLER MOVE: Start In 12-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary came into last week's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on a hot streak with back-to-back 100-yard games, but the return of Dameon Pierce cut into Singletary's role.
The former Bills running back had just six carries for 18 yards in the 24-21 loss to the Jags, though he made his impact felt in the passing game as he caught six of his seven targets for 54 yards. Pierce, returning from a three-game absence, had five carries for 14 yards and caught one pass for four yards.
It's clear at this point that Singletary is Houston's lead back, but Pierce eats into his role just enough to take away that RB1 upside that he had during the second-year back's absence.
The Texans face the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Denver has allowed more rushing yards per game than any other NFL team, so while Pierce's presence might impact Singeltary's upside, that doesn't mean fantasy managers need to bench Singletary. He's still a solid RB2 option this week against this porous Broncos run defense.
