BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 14% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Devante Parker has been the definition of inconsistency throughout the first four years of his NFL career. There've been flashes of brilliance followed by weeks of complete irrelevance. But is there reason to believe this year could be different?
In Week 1 against the Ravens, Parker led the Dolphins in both targets (seven) and receiving yards (75). He only had three catches in the game but his stat-line was salvaged by a 49-yard reception where he had one of those tantalizing flashes of brilliance, making a very difficult catch in traffic.
While the Dolphins likely won't lose by over 40 points every week, they're certainly going to be losing by substantial margins on many occasions this season, which means they will be forced to pass the ball early and often. Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is well-accustomed to a high pass volume and has supported several productive fantasy receivers in past years, far more than Parker's last quarterback Ryan Tanehill, who was almost like fantasy cancer to his wide receivers.
Parker's worth an add in deep leagues of 14 teams or more as he should see around seven to ten targets with regularity. In more shallow leagues, he can be left on waivers until he strings together a few productive games in a row to suggest his inconsistency could be behind him.
