DeVante Parker (WR, MIA) - Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: After missing ample time (out from W5 to W7, both included) DeVante Parker finally came back last Sunday to man the outside of Miami's receiving corps at Buffalo. And he couldn't have looked better than he did against a tough D like that of the Bills. Parker didn't seem to have missed a beat, got the second-most opportunities, and finished as the best Dolphin of the week in PPR leagues--yes, including Tua Tagovailoa's score.

Parker was only second to rookie WR Jaylen Waddle in targets (11 to 12) but other than that he absolutely destroyed Waddle's final FP tally and levels of production against Buffalo. Parker grabbed 8 of those 11 targets, racked up 85 yards, and only missed on scoring a touchdown (no Dolphins player scored one other than Tua on a rush attempt). Parker's WR18 (mid-level WR2 realm) is what we can expect from him going forward.

This is kind of a risky play to make this week. The trade deadline is coming in mere hours and Tua might be on his way out if Miami finally opts to pull the Deshaun Watson trigger. That'd mean Parker would go from playing under Tua to doing so under... Jacoby Brissett. Not loving that thing, if you ask me. In any case, we have/are seeing this in other places (coincidentally, Houston) and stud WRs are going to stay up no matter what (Brandin Cooks is the WR17 through Week 8). Not saying Parker is a must-have, weekly-WR1 player, but given he looked as healthy and capable as ever he definitely deserves being rostered in almost every fantasy league.
