DeVante Parker (WR, MIA) - Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: Sadly for us fantasy GMs, everything points toward a WR2/WR3 version of DeVante Parker instead of a WR1 one. Ugh... That doesn't mean we can't extract some value from the Dolphins wide receiver, though, as he just proved his talent this past Sunday facing a Colts defense that didn't know how to stop him, helping the receiver to reach a WR16 finish on Week 4. Not great, but good enough if you ask me.

If you know anything about Miami is that the Fins lost Tua to injury a bunch of days ago and that the team is now trusting Jacoby Brissett at the QB position. That's not entirely fantastic. But so far, DeVante Parker has seen a steady volume of targets all four games he's been part of with alternating 7- or 9-target days each of those times. Parker has caught either four (three times) or five (once) of those targets in the games played to date and finished with 81, 42, 42, and 77 receiving yards from W1 to W4. This past Sunday Parker finally broke for his first TD of the season while playing 90% of the offense's snaps (first time above 83%).

Parker's Week 4 17.7 PPR tally is his highest this season after scoring 12.1, 9.2, and 8.2 in the prior three matches. The fantasy scores have been far from great, but again, the opportunities are still going his way with the 8 targets-per-game average to which he only needs to add some oomph in terms of actual yardage and scores down the line. Not a lock to start anymore, Parker fits more like a weekly WR3/FLEX in most formats out there, and an obvious rosterable/starter for those in deeper leagues.
