So, this happened…
Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson went on record and explained to the NFL world how good he thinks he is and there’s not anyone in the league that could cover him. Richard Sherman? Nope. Darrelle Revis? Not a chance. A cheetah wearing a Dick LeBeau Halloween face-mask? Never. That’s right – no one.
Teammate Chris Culliver was given the task of covering Jackson during Redskins’ training camp on Monday, which Jackson seemed to sarcastically mock in his own subtle way. “I don’t think no one can guard me,” Jackson told ESPN’s John Keim (let’s all ignore Jackson’s grammar slip-and-slide into a nine billion bolt electrical fence, there). “It’s how I feel about myself. I don’t feel no one can stop me.”
Man has a point. Since being drafted in 2008, Jackson has put up impressive numbers, sans last year when he “only” had 1,169 receiving yards and six touchdowns. However, it’s his in-depth stats that should send cornerbacks running (13 receptions of 40 plus yards to name one).
Regardless, it’s a lot of big talk coming from a player who finished 16th among WRs in fantasy scoring least season.
