ANALYSIS: Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been a plug-and-play fantasy superstar RB1 over the past few years. Unfortunately, his production has slightly slipped in 2023. He is the RB15 for the season, averaging 12.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the veteran has been a hit-or-miss type player all year.
He has scored fewer than five fantasy points in 40% of the games, including two straight. Yet, the superstar has averaged 17.3 fantasy points per game in the other six contests this season. Henry’s inconsistent play is because of several factors, including an awful offensive line. However, the veteran has put up solid numbers in 2023.
The former Alabama star has 158 rushing attempts for 663 yards and four touchdowns. He also has 20 receptions for 167 receiving yards this year. Meanwhile, Henry has a passing touchdown, only one fewer than Ryan Tannehill.
More importantly, the veteran has an outstanding fantasy football matchup on Sunday. The Carolina Panthers have surrendered 26.5 fantasy points per game to running backs, the second-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they have given up at least one rushing touchdown to running backs in 80% of their games.
