Derek Norris (C/1B, SDG) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Leagues

OWNED IN: 20% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: Derek Norris is struggling and there is not much debate to that fact. He is hitting below .200 with a BABIP of .234 and his highest K% of his career at 25.7%. So why should you buy into Derek Norris in 12+ Leagues?

The Padres are going to trade off a ton of their veteran assets. Norris is near the top of that list with a number of tasty destinations waiting for a catcher. Norris hits closer to .300 for his career and a SLG% near .400 while sporting a 10% BB rate. Even though he has failed to stay healthy in any season, he still holds two position eligibility in most leagues which keeps him in several lineups. However owners have to find value where they can especially at a tough position such as catcher. Even someone like Evan Gattis is getting huge responses from the fantasy community simply because he gained the position eligibility.

Norris is going to be better going forward. Buying now could pay off for the second half of the season.
