ANALYSIS: Giants closer Mark Melancon has been placed on the disabled list, and either Derek Law or Hunter Strickland could be the next in line for saves.
Giants just placed Mark Melancon on the DL with a right pronator strain. They're playing a man short tonight.

According to CSN Bay Area, Derek Law may actually be the next up for saves chances. While many are expecting Strickland to get the next nod, this is a local publication who may have a better feel on the situation.
We also took a look at the game logs, to see for ourselves. To put it simply - Law has been pitching in games that the Giants have won recently, whereas Strickland has been pitching in losses. He may be the more trusted arm.
Melancon's injury is being called a mild right pronator strain (a muscle just below the elbow), and it's unknown how long he will be out for. If you are in a deeper league that values saves, feel free to grab Law and/or Strickland, depending on how deep your league is and how much roster room you have.
The Giants haven't been winning many games, so just don't expect a lot of saves here unless Melancon is out for an extended period of time.
