BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: Low-End QB1 or High-End QB2
ANALYSIS: The New Orleans Saints are currently ranked as the best offense in the NFL. They started 2-0 and scored 91 points in those games combined. A key factor in their offensive success has been Derek Carr, who is playing some of the best football of his career.
Carr is currently averaging 24.28 fantasy points per game, which places him fourth among all quarterbacks. While it may surprise some to see Carr among the top fantasy QBs in 2024, anyone who has watched him play this year would understand how. He’s just been unbelievable.

This week, Carr and the Saints are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles, a matchup that works tremendously in his favor. The Eagles defense (specifically their secondary) has struggled, ranking 28th in passing yards allowed per game this season (242). Most recently, they allowed 241 passing yards and two touchdowns to Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.
While he still ranks in the lower half of starting quarterbacks in fantasy leagues where you only start one quarterback, Carr has earned the right to be given a chance and thrown into the battlefield. His upside is particularly high now, especially for those seeking a week-to-week streaming option.
