ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is one of the top weapons in the NFL. However, he hasn’t been a fantasy superstar in 2023. The veteran is the WR42, averaging 10.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Samuel has 27 receptions on 40 targets for 395 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also has had a role in the run game, totaling 22 rushing attempts for 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season.
The veteran wide receiver averaged 16.7 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks, totaling 19 or more twice. However, he hasn’t been the same since getting hurt against the New York Giants in Week 3. Samuel has averaged only 6.7 fantasy points per game since getting hurt, scoring double digits only twice. Furthermore, he missed two games with a hairline fracture in his shoulder.
Meanwhile, Samuel takes on the Seattle Seahawks tomorrow night. The Seahawks have surrendered 28.7 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, slightly above the league average. They have given up a receiving touchdown to a wide receiver in three consecutive games. Samuel has struggled lately but should see an uptick in work with a fantasy-friendly matchup.
