BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 44% of leagues
ANALYSIS: James Harden missed the Sixers' last game of the year on Dec. 31 as he was given a day off by Philly. Tyrese Maxey came back from injury on Dec. 30 but didn't play on the second leg of that back-to-back, either. One player did appear in both games and has been playing more than a prominent role since mid-November, De'Anthony Melton.
Melton has started all games he's placed from Nov. 18 on. It's been 20 in a row and counting. The Sixers might be about to make some expected changes in their rotation when they get all of their rostered players back and fully fit. Even then, though, Melton should retain most of his value and upside ROS because he's been extraordinary in the last month and change.
The two-guard is coming off his best game in the past two weeks after putting up a 17-7-5-3-2 packed line against OKC on New Year's Eve. That performance happened just one day after he filled the stat line to the brim with another packed 11-3-4-2-2 contribution against the Pelicans on Dec. 30.
Melton can do it all, as simple as that. Don't believe it? There are two players in the NBA putting up a nightly 10-4-3-2 baseline. One is Melton, the other one is Jimmy Butler (21-6-5-2). That's the beauty of Melton, his all-around upside, and his contributions on ancillary cats such as steals and monster-volume 3-point shooting (6+ 3PA per game) with high percentages (43/39/69 splits).
