ANALYSIS: The Los Angeles Chargers receiving corps has steadily been one of the most banged-up units in the NFL this season.
As L.A. eyes a Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, it appears they will once again be depleted when it comes to pass catchers, as Mike Williams has been ruled out and Keenan Allen continues to look very doubtful with a lingering hamstring issue that's kept him out of practice all week.
While Joshua Palmer has been the clear WR3 for L.A. behind Williams and Allen, veteran WR DeAndre Carter has also seen a significant bump in usage for this offense.
With Williams and Allen both out of the picture last week, Carter was on the field for a hefty 83% of the Chargers' offensive plays. The 29-year-old converted that playing time for five catches and 53 yards on six targets.
Fantasy managers will want to monitor the injury status of Allen into the weekend, but his absence would again thrust Carter into a sizeable workload for this L.A. passing attack. He should be considered a usable FLEX option in 12+ team Full PPR leagues as long as both Williams and Allen remain out of the picture.
