BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: A slash of .293/.348/.390 is top-notch. However, based on his past couple of seasons, the BA and OBP are not sustainable for Viciedo. If you are part of the 2 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy managers that already own the 25-year-old outfielder, go ahead and enjoy the average boost that he has unexpectedly supplied so far. The legitimate reason to own Viciedo, now that Avisail Garcia (shoulder surgery) is done for 2014, is his low-risk, high-reward power potential in AL-only and deeper-mixed format. Unlike many other low-end boppers, the Cuban-born slugger will not place your ratios at too much risk (career .266 AVG, .309 OBP) just to provide a boost to your homer frequency. For a bat that can just simply be picked up off the scrap heap in most leagues, Viciedo’s 2012-13 combined marks of 24.3 AB/HR and .176 ISO are certainly solid.
