ANALYSIS: After going undrafted and signing with his hometown Los Angeles Lakers two years ago, David Nwaba was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bulls last summer. Now, he’s finally making an impact with the Bulls, starting numerous games and playing in over 50 games this season. Nwaba’s workload with the Bulls continue to grow, as he’s seen over 30 minutes of action in each of the past six games, averaging 12 points, six rebounds and two assists over the stretch. The 25-year-old’s opportunity has come as the Bulls deal with injuries, but his continued improvement could mean consistency.
Just two weeks ago, Nwaba scored a career-high 21 points in 33 minutes against the Sixers, also picking up nine rebounds before fouling out. While it appears that Justin Holiday will return to Chicago’s starting lineup Wednesday night, he’s on a minutes restriction, meaning Nwaba will continue to see plenty of time on the court. Considering he’s widely available and gives fantasy users a reliable option for points and rebounds, Nwaba is a solid option to add to any fantasy bench. With the continued mindset of someone fighting for playing time, the Los Angeles native will continue to play aggressively and should provide a nice boost to fantasy benches.
