BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Seahawks are a run-heavy team (they’re rushing on 48.4% of their plays, fourth-most in the league) but they’re also a highly efficient squad on the passing game. So far this season they rank second in yards per attempt (9.0), completion rate (72.5%) and passing touchdowns (14), and Russell Wilson’s QB Rating leads the league at 124.7. All of that in a team where the only sure-thing at the receiver position is Tyler Lockett.
Yes, you can argue DK Metcalf is worth mentioning as another go-to option, but he’s still a rookie and his production has much more to do with Wilson than anything else. But that is where David Moore’s value is at. Seattle doesn’t have any clarity at the wide receiver position, so Moore can add value any single day. He’s had a slow start of the season (84 yards on 6 receptions in four games) but he already has scored a touchdown.
While not a lot can be expected from Moore in terms of the volume he’ll get (he’s been targeted two, two, two, and four times in his four games) the chance he scores big points on his opportunities is high due to how well designed Seattle’s offense is. A quick look at his yards per reception (14.0) shows how every time he’s made a catch it’s marked a big gain, and Moore’s also averaging a good 5.3 yards after catch right now.
Being honest, Moore is far from a player worth valuing much in fantasy. His low volume takes most of his upside from him and reduces his potential value each week a lot. On the other hand, though, being in Seattle’s attack makes him akin to a running back handcuff. If Metcalf or Lockett fall injured he’ll see his usage make a substantial jump and his production should see an uptick too. In the meantime, you could add him and stash him if you have a deep roster with holes to fill now that the byes are in full force.
