BALLER MOVE: Add in 16+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 0% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: You won't find Mooney-talk around often. While that is reasonable to a certain extent, it is to another. Let me explain. Mooney has only logged six targets through Week 2, but he's caught all of them for 74 combined yards and a touchdown. When you think of the Bears, your think of WRs Allen Robinson II and Anthony Miller first, and then about how middling of a QB Mitchell Trubisky is. But the truth is that Mooney is making the most of his chances while not rostered in virtually any league.
Looking at games played through Sunday, Mooney is one of only 11 players to have a perfect 100% catch rate while targeted at least six times over the season. He is one of just seven players if we don't take running backs into account, and one of only four wide receivers. Mooney is, obviously, the most widely-available/cheap of them all. Oh, and in case I didn't mention, he also scored a touchdown in his last outing against the Giants this past weekend.
With Ted Ginn Jr. missing W2 due to injury and not many options on the receiving corps, Mooney could see his role grow a bit in Chicago during the following weeks. Also, no defense is going to focus on him playing opposite Allen Robinson II. The Falcons are on the Bears schedule and they have been atrocious against WRs (28th in points allowed to the position), so you know what to do. Mooney won't win you the league, but if you're into a super-deep one he might be a good enough option to put in your lineup.
