Darnell Mooney fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Darnell Mooney for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR51
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney was one of my favorite fantasy football sleepers this year. After struggling with the Chicago Bears for years, Mooney is finally in a fantasy-friendly offense in Atlanta.
Unfortunately, he had a rough Week 1 performance, totaling one reception on three targets for 15 receiving yards and two half-point PPR fantasy points. However, Mooney bounced back in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran had three receptions on seven targets for 88 receiving yards and the team’s first touchdown of the game.

Mooney is the Falcons’ top-scoring wide receiver over the first two weeks, averaging 9.2 fantasy points per game. More importantly, the veteran wide receiver has an appealing matchup Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs have held wide receivers to only 20.5 fantasy points per game this season, the 10th-fewest in the NFL. However, they have struggled against No. 2 wide receivers. Last week, Andrei Iosivas was the WR21, scoring 13.7 fantasy points and two touchdowns against Kansas City. While Mooney likely won’t have two touchdowns Sunday night, the veteran is an appealing flex option in deeper leagues.
