BALLER MOVE: Add In Deeper Leagues
OWNED IN: 7% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Darius Miller has slowly worked his way into seeing increased action for the New Orleans Pelicans this season. The third-year forward out of Kentucky has seen at least 21 minutes of playing time in every game since November 13th’s victory over the Atlanta Hawks, which saw him score 21 points. At this point, Miller leads the second unit for the Pelicans, having scored double digit points in seven of the 10 games since the aforementioned 21-point performance. The 27-year-old also managed to record multiple rebounds and assists in some of those matchups. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of Miller’s game is his shooting ability from three-point range, currently ranked fourth in the league, shooting 47 percent from downtown.
Playing off the bench and having the ability to score into the double digits on a consistent basis makes Miller a valuable commodity as a deep league find through the waiver wire. He fits perfectly as a forward on an off night for others, with the ability to approach a double-double and score 15 points. Considering he played a season-high 34 points this past Monday against the Warriors means he could be getting set for even more playing time as the season moves forward. This will open the possibility for more solid performances and further value. Those seeking a different option for last player on their respective fantasy squads should consider Miller and his upside, especially as his minutes played see a rise.
