ANALYSIS: Let’s welcome San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis with his first appearance in this article for the season. Marquise Goodwin missed Week 12 after a serious family emergency required him to make the trip back home.Since Pierre Garcon also missed the game while dealing with an injury, it was time for Pettis to finally have his breakout performance, catching four balls for 77 yards while finding the end zone one time.
If Goodwin misses multiple weeks, Pettis could continue to see this type of value. Tougher matchups lie ahead with Seattle and Denver on the schedule soon, but San Francisco’s defense will continue to be bad always allowing for Pettis to have value in negative game script.
