Baller Move: Add in all leagues
Owned In: 54% of Fleaflicker leagues
Analysis: Having spent the majority of his seven-year career bouncing around between five teams, Danny Valencia is finally finding stability, though it may not be for long. Now in his first full season with his sixth team, the Oakland Athletics, the 31-year-old Miami native is continuing his terrific stretch from last year when the A’s acquired him from Toronto. This season he’s hitting .323, but has really raised his game in the last two weeks, recording six home runs, 12 RBI and raising his batting average by nearly 60 points. So why say that this stability may not last for long? There are rumors that Valencia is actively being shopped by the Athletics, once again calling for a change of scenery. This, however, may actually not be such a bad move after all. With the A’s not appearing to be in contention, Valencia moving to a contender may bode well for his fantasy prospects, especially in a stronger lineup. Continuing to look at the present, Valencia has dropped his K% and is hitting just as many fly balls as ground balls, something he’s struggled to balance out in the past. He appears poised to finally put all the ingredients together this season, and if you happen to be in the 46% of leagues in which he’s not owned, you may want to get him now before it’s too late.
