BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Danny Duffy was a well-regarded prospect in the not too distant past. Tommy John surgery and some struggles since have put him well off the radar. Now, following a successful stint as a reliever in the first month of 2014, Duffy has been promoted to the rotation and made two promising starts. Duffy has allowed just two runs in 10 innings of work as a starter and his average fastball is also being clocked at over 94 MPH. Couple that with just four hits allowed so far and Duffy is a great speculative add in deeper leagues. He has exhibited poor control in those two starts with seven walks which keeps me from recommending him in shallower leagues right away, but he is definitely one to keep an eye on. At the very least, Danny Duffy is back on the radar.
