BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team PPR leagues
OWNED IN: 5% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Believe it or not, Danny Amendola was tied for third in the NFL among receivers in Week 1 with 13 targets. Matthew Stafford looked his way early and often, and Amendola came down with seven catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in the tie against the Cardinals.
The 33-year-old veteran could become a favorite target of Stafford's on short and intermediate routes, but keep in mind that this type of production won't come regularly with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson all commanding looks as well. Amendola played 53 percent of the offensive snaps compared to Golladay's 98 percent, Jones' 81 percent and Hockenson's 73 percent.
It was a fine debut with Detroit, but Amendola did it against an Arizona defense that may be among the worst in the NFL, especially early in the season without stud cornerback Patrick Peterson in the fold. He'll have his moments, but Amendola's Week 1 production may turn out to be one of his best performances of 2019.
You can do much worse than Amendola in deeper PPR leagues if you're looking for depth and a potential bye-week replacement down the road, however.
