ANALYSIS: Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce was a star as a rookie, ending the year as the RB28, averaging 11.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game despite missing the final four contests. However, he has struggled since the team changed coaches, losing his starting role to Devin Singletary last season.
However, the third-year running back could be a popular waiver wire target in Week 3 with Joe Mixon dealing with an ankle injury. Pierce is dealing with his own injury issues, missing the Sunday night matchup against the Chicago Bears with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy players in deeper leagues can add Piece off the waiver with hopes that Mixon can’t play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. However, Cam Akers has had some solid moments this year. While Pierce was once a fantasy star, the young running back is a desperation flex option in Week 3 if Mixon misses the game.
