BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB6/RB (insert bigger number here)
ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook was elevated to the active roster for Sunday Night Football in Week 8. That's interesting news, but he should not be started in any leagues right now. He took first-team reps in practice, but will face a stout San Francisco 49ers defense, and there's no way of knowing what his role will be.

He used to be an excellent running back, but fantasy managers should want to see something on the field in 2024 before plugging him into starting lineups. It's possible he still has some juice, and his backfield mate, Rico Dowdle, hasn't exactly shredded this season. Dallas didn't have much of a plan at RB coming into the year.
It's fine to roster Cook in leagues with 12 or more teams, but starting him in this kind of matchup is a massive risk. Take some time to see how things shake out. It's not impossible for him to have a big game or take over the starting job, but it's not something you want to bet on with him being out of action for so long.
