BALLER MOVE: Start in all leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Rookie Dalton Kincaid remains the alpha at the tight end position for the Buffalo Bills, but the return of former starter Dawson Knox could hinder the weekly upside of the first-round pick.
The incumbent Knox had been taking a back seat to the impressive rookie in the receiving department, but he was still on the field for a ton of snaps before suffering a wrist injury that landed him on injured reserve. Akin to a running back committee approach, the pair may cannibalize each other's production.
Early in the season, the Bills used the two tight ends in tandem. Both played over 50% of the snaps in every game that they were active. Kincaid's time on the field jumped exponentially when Knox went to injured reserve.
Knox's injury also coincided with the emergence of the third wide receiver, Khalil Shakir. He's been an important part of the offense in recent weeks, and it may be tough for the Buffalo coaching staff to take him off of the field. If that's the case, one of Knox and Kincaid will be relegated to the sidelines in 3WR/1TE/1RB sets. It's likely the former, but certain packages may call for Knox.
Still, Kincaid's upside is too tempting to shy away from in a scarce position for fantasy football. While the Chiefs are one of the toughest defenses in the NFL against tight ends, this matchup also offers the second-highest line of the Week 14 slate. If a lot of points get put on the board like Las Vegas predicts, Kincaid will be heavily involved.
