The tight end position has always been one of the hardest to evaluate for fantasy players. Therefore, it’s no surprise that many would rather pay the price to draft Travis Kelce or Sam LaPorta and not worry about the position.
Yet, there are several appealing middle and later-round options at the tight end position. Dalton Kincaid, Brock Bowers, and David Njoku are all former first-round NFL Draft picks and have massive fantasy upside.
However, which tight end should fantasy players target in their 2024 drafts? Let’s break it down.

Dalton Kincaid 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Kincaid was the TE11 last season, averaging 7.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He had 73 receptions for 673 receiving yards and two touchdowns. However, the second-year player is one of my top tight end draft targets. The Buffalo Bills lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason, replacing them with Curtis Samuel and Keon Coleman. Kincaid was a fantasy star whenever Dawson Knox or Davis missed time last year. He should be even better as Josh Allen’s go-to guy in 2024.

Brock Bowers 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
The rookie tight end has massive talent, totaling 175 receptions for 2,538 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in 40 games at Georgia. However, Bowers’ fantasy upside is limited this season. The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the worst quarterback units in the NFL. Furthermore, the rookie will have to fight for targets with Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, Michael Gallup, and Michael Mayer on the roster.

David Njoku 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Njoku averaged a career-high 10 half-point PPR fantasy points per game last season, the veteran was quarterback-dependent. He was TE13 in the five contests that Deshaun Watson had at least six pass attempts, averaging 6.3 fantasy points per game. By comparison, Njoku was the TE1 in the five games with Joe Flacco under center, averaging 15.2 fantasy points per contest. Furthermore, four of his six receiving touchdowns came from Flacco.

Who Should I Draft?
Fantasy players should have no trouble deciding between these three tight ends. Kincaid is the clear-cut top option after the moves the Bills made this offseason. The second-year player has the best quarterback of the three and the least amount of target competition. Unlike Bowers and Njoku, Kincaid has overall TE1 upside this season.
