BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: Low-End QB1
ANALYSIS: This season has likely challenged what many NFL fans think of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. He was seen as an elite QB1 coming into the season, but hasn't lived up to expectations. He's also just the QB19, which is a surprise, even though he's already had his bye.
Dak Prescott now has 2 interceptions in 3-straight games. He called the second INT against the 49ers a "boneheaded" play. Wishes he either threw it away or threw it harder

With NFL narratives constantly pinballing between "he's absolutely horrible" and "he's an MVP candidate" over the past few seasons, the answer is probably somewhere in the middle. The Cowboys have issues that extend beyond just quarterback play, which have been heavily exposed this season.
The absence of his WR2, Brandin Cooks (knee), has certainly had somewhat of an impact. But Prescott has often been a garbage-time stat-padder who also dunks on the league's worst defenses. He'll get to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, who allow the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.
Dak Prescott today vs. DET:
• 17-33, 178 Yards 🎯🎯
• 2 INT 🔥🔥
• No Touchdowns 🥶🥶
• 42.2 Passer Rating 📉📉

Garbage time wasn't enough for him to be productive against the Detroit Lions, either. Dallas is a team that folds when they're punched in the mouth. They have attitude problems across the board. Also, in recent years, Prescott has benefitted massively from elite defensive play and huge amounts of turnovers generated by his defense.
Those haven't been there this season, and with fewer opportunities for drives and fewer blowout games to run up the score in, No. 4 hasn't been as productive in fantasy. He made a killing last season on long touchdown drives in games with big leads or airing it out when the game was out of reach to salvage the score.
We shouldn't expect the ceiling he had in 2023, but we can expect decent QB1 numbers against poor defenses like Atlanta, so Prescott is a decent start this week.
