Welcome to the Monday, September 9th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 9th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Hey, what’s the hold-up, guys? Eugenio Suarez rolls up to the big boys idling at 44.
- Ramon Laureano owners, sorry about this two-on, one-off schedule.
- Mike Montgomery, why act like the Marlins are the Astros?
- The Astros had more runs (21) that 11 NFL teams scored points. Embarrassing.
- Renato Nunez giving you AVG (.340) last 15 games but few HR(one). Get past LAD & opps should come.
- Respect to Rougned Odor for 24HR. How long can he hold a job hitting .204?
- Sandy Alcantara w/complete-game shutout.
- Ketel Marte, you’re gonna break people’s hearts if you keep doing this & end up in the 2nd rd in 2020.
- Tyler Glasnow returns. 2IP, 2ER, 5K. Dreamy.
- Austin Meadows drives another one out to pasture. 28HR, 10SB, .288AVG.
- Scott Kingery puts on his toy crown and enjoys his combo meal. 18HR/12SB.
- When there is no hope left of more, Jean Segura steals a base (eight).
- Max Scherzer resembles his old self, even steals a base.
- Juan Soto continues to solidify his first-round status.
- Jack Flaherty trends higher. 21.8%K-BB. 31.7%Chase. 13.2%SwingStrike rate. I like.
- Carlos Martinez will be sneaky cheap saves in 2020. Stock up.
- George Springer w/31st long ball and four RBI. Frustrating if he was locked out of lineups.
- Yordan Alvarez in the third round of 2020. Days of six RBI guarantees that at least.
- Someone in the Astros upper echelon is fuming, watching Kyle Tucker hit 2-for-5 w/3RBI.
- Javier Baez owners. I feel for you. At least you had him for most of the year.
- GO Mitch Garver GO! 29HR is a sundae. .274 is getting the chocolate and caramel topping.
- I feel as though Francisco Lindor, viewed as a steal w/fifth or sixth pick, will creep back into top-four by 2020.
- Two-straight games w/dingers, Jose Abreu (31) making you look smart for drafting him, even though you probably bad-mouthed him this year.
- Sean Manaea was DOMINANT for W. 7IP, 1ER, 10K. YES! The wait was worth it. **Don’t forget to mention it was the Tigers** Shut Up!!
- One year, Corey Seager will be a value. Too many SS options. Everyone disappointed in him. Wait, that sounds like 2020.
- Gleyber Torres hits 35th tater. You’ll want him at 2B next year.
- "It’s about time Slow Poke!” Brett Gardner very nice to wait on Aaron Judge to hit 21.
- Mookie Betts is MLB. Markus Lynn Betts stat line stands at 128R, 27HR, 14SB, .291AVG.
- Have a great Monday. Two Football games and a short slate of baseball. Take the time to breathe and enjoy other things.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
