Welcome to the Saturday, September 7th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 7th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Come here often? No, I’m just here for the SB. Awesome, have some power while you wait. Tommy Edman w/two shots of 100 proof (seven).
- Forever Young. Whit Merrifield wants to be Forever Young. Forever. Matches 2018 total of getting caught stealing a base (10).
- Christian Yelich arrives at 44. "I’m sorry, sir. They already left. They said something about not wanting to hang out with someone from a nudie mag.”
- “Can I have seconds?” Of course you can, Willie Calhoun. Eat all you want. 18th mashed tater.
- 1B will appear weak at the top of 2020 drafts. Trey Mancini (30 dingers, .277AVG) is cheaper value.
- Anthony Santander w/7HR, 15RBI, .344AVG last 15 games. Five games against lefties (.294AVG); at home vs southpaws (.339AVG). Only 38% owned.
- Shhh. We have a rare opportunity to see a Felipe Vázquez in his natural environment. Watch as he secures the save so effortlessly. (25)
- That moment in the movie where your befuddlement stops & you suddenly cheer for the underdog: Go Ian Kennedy (27SV)! Go!
- Hunter Dozier may just come w/3B/OF eligibility in 2020. 25HR is nice. Kauffman Stadium is not, for power.
- Domingo German denied entry again. Tougher against stronger competition. 4.83FIP doesn’t take away from 17W.
- Brett Gardner doesn’t like hanging around average power-hitters like Aaron Judge. Pulls ahead w/21st homer.
- HZ Attack! I think Eugenio Suarez has become one of the Homer-Zombies. AAAAHHHHH!!!! 22 blasts in the second half (leads majors).
- It is nice to see the D’Backs stick w/Archie Bradley at closer. It has been a long time coming. (13SV)
- Ketel Marte (31 dingers), you’ve got people drafting you in the 3rd round of mock drafts. Let's see if we can get you to the second.
- Brendan McKay is still working through things. 3.2IP of one-hitter w/seven K works for me.
- Ever know someone that was clumsy? Would you intentionally let them hold your $7000 watch? In other news, Edwin Diaz blows a save. Is that news, really?
- Michael Conforto will get to 30HR. Weren’t we hoping for more?
- J.T. Realmuto w/three-straight games with HR. I thought I heard him scream “We Are CATCHERS!!!” before that last one.
- Holy Free Escalator Ride! Patrick Corbin giving away six free passes. Who carries that many at one time?
- Ozzie Albies joins the 20/15 club. Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, I’m targeting him in 5th round of 2020 mock draft.
- Giddy Giddy. Josh Donaldson w/35 moonshots. Don’t you love when guys do great. It rockets their value and allows you to take more of “your guys".
- Yep, first homer and stolen base of 2019 already checked off in a matter of two days for Kyle Tucker. Let them (but mainly him) play.
- Mallex Smith-owner, aren’t you leading SB category by now? 40SB.
- Nicholas Castellanos gives hope for a full season of his second-half performance. 15HR, .304AVG.
- 2020 draft order. Pick 1, 2, then 4 or 5. Please, please just give me Francisco Lindor already. 28HR, 20SB, .297AVG w/missed time.
- Tim Melville, are you really the savior?
- Tim Anderson gets it all. 370-footer to make it a clean 16/16 w/.333AVG.
- Ramon Laureano returns. It would’ve been nice to know before lineups lock.
- A.J. Pollock hits three HR?! How does this happen? (says my brain as my hands start a slow clap. Looking around for answers)
- Mr. Trevor Story, Happy to have you aboard the 30/20 Express again!
- Have a great Saturday. Enjoy your baseball, college football, birthday parties, wedding, football prep. Enjoy it all!
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
