Welcome to the Monday, September 30th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 30th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Rafael Devers finishes breakout season w/249 hits 95mph+ (leads MLB), 2nd in runs (129); 2nd in hits (201); 2nd in 2B (54). 32HR, .311AVG. Top-two round pick. Guaranteed.
- Mike Clevinger was in no mood to help your team. 5.2IP, 6ER.
- Eduardo Rodriguez gets 20th win. Oh, nevermind. BoSox bullpen brings us back to reality.
- Tell me how you aren’t impressed w/Francisco Lindor’s stat line. 101/32/79/22/.284. Top-six pick. Mark it down.
- Will Smith w/15 dingers in 170AB. Looking like a top-three catcher I want next year.
- Aaron Judge, sorry to tell you but you came one tater shy of Brett Gardner’s 28. Maybe do some pool swings this offseason.
- Tim Anderson wins a batting title. Don’t let that inflate his price in 2020.
- Blake Snell tries to build consistency. 2.1IP, 2ER, 2BB. Six innings total in last three starts. Please be a discounted next year.
- We didn’t even see the best of George Springer. 39th blast of God Bless Texas.
- Yuli Gurriel enjoys a beautiful 31st hair toss. Like Vidal Sassoon. You don’t look good, we don’t look good.
- Gerrit Cole used just five innings to secure 20th win & 326K. Open the checkbooks.
- Is this the quality of lineup that Noah Syndergaard needs to face to excel? 7IP, 3ER, 9K.
- Back-to-back games w/long distance deposit for Miguel Cabrera. Reminisce, just don’t invite thoughts of “Maybe he’s….."
- Jackpot! Mission accomplished. Paul Goldschmidt is a five-category guy again. Third SB w/34th blast of hot fire. That’s a finger-lickin' good combo.
- Jack Flaherty. 2.75ERA is awesome. Sorry, we can only get you 11 wins.
- Aristides Aquino tucked a little ‘Don’t Forget About Me’ card (19th dinger) in your pocket before you leave the 2019 season.
- Martin Prado has a special day. 100th HR & special sendoff. Baseball is beautiful.
- Teoscar Hernandez orders the combo meal (26HR/6SB). Don’t worry, the Long John Silver meal isn’t very delicious.
- Dear Kevin Plawecki, Thank you for looking the other way or even signing off on five stolen bases. ~ Nats base runners.
- Don’t understand it but much respect to Brad Miller w/three two-homer games in last eight games.
- Don’t assume that all players will be as usual in 2020. New management in SF, PIT, CHC, KC, etc, will have some effect on the players, hopefully, all for the positive.
- Have a great Monday. I hope you had a great fantasy baseball season and even accrued a trophy or two. Even if your mantle didn't expand, take time to appreciate all the fun you had. Offseason analysis for 2020 is right around the corner.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
