Welcome to the August 30th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 29th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Mike Trout (12) doesn't stop w/ 10-run lead. Our King!
- I tell you this now. Kyle Tucker is on my short list for 2021. 53 R+RBI, 6 HR, 4 SB.
- Luke Voit, kudos to your 12th squeeze of the lemon. If anyone gives you a hard time about your 15% SwingStrike rate, tell them Nelson Cruz has 15.1%…and go make lemonade.
- Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down.” Rick Astley wasn’t talking about your bullpen, J.A. Happ. (7.1 IP, 5 K, no win).
- The tires get a little worn down after awhile. Randy Dobnak crashed into the wall (4.1 IP, 6 ER). That hurt.
- Matthew Boyd gets 1st W vs Cruz-less Twins. What?! Just stating facts here.
- C’est Magnifique. Victor Reyes enjoys a full 4-for-4 course meal.
- Tarik Skubal gets first W, but not before Cruz (13) brands him. Next time show a little respect.
- James Karinchak, of all people, let Carlos Carrasco’s win slip right through his fingers.
- Two straight games with SB. Has Francisco Lindor cranked up the motor or just taking advantage of Yadi.
- The lengthy missed time sucks, but Jack Flaherty is back for you now.
- What does he do, Clarice? He covets. He covets HR. Rhys Hoskins (four) with three dances in the moonlight of five nights. **Hopkins. What?! It was Anthony Hopkins. I don’t care with this trivial one-letter differences.
- It’s ok, Yasmani Grandal. I’m sure people expected four HR and a .227 AVG from a 95th overall pick. **Smothered, covered, diced, chopped, & peppered w/ sarcasm.
- Let me get this right. Zach Eflin has a 39.9% SwingStrike rate, 26.1% K-BB, and a 2.72 FIP? C’mon, what’s the punch line?
- Ouch. Any Zack Burdi owners?
- Dylan Cease, does this look like DisneyWorld? Stop giving away Fastpasses (six).
- Hey, you 1% that own Ryan McBroom. Enjoy the 5 HR, .327 AVG. Be wary of .448 BABIP & 36% K rate.
- Hello. Hellooooo. Is anyone still here? The rickety sign outside said Shogo Akiyama fan club.
- The little back muscles are screaming hold…HOLD! They held the line for Anthony Rizzo (two taters) one more night.
- You have to wonder if Shane Bieber got lonely…so cold and lonely at the top. Yu Darvish steps over, puts his arm around Shane, & said “The Few, The Proud, The Six-Win Club.” Well said Yu, well said.
- With every swing, an opportunity for me to get Jesse Winker in 2021 drafts disappears. (10th HR).
- It feels great when just one of your mid-round choices comes through, doesn’t it. Lance McCullers Jr. with 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 K)
- I don’t know if your fourth long ball will quench their thirst, Ramon Laureano. The masses have become jaded.
- Hey! Over here. Matt Olson is hitting .169. “Don’t care.” .169 AVG!! “Don’t care!" Check out the BABIP though.
- Josh Fleming takes advantage of Marlins for his second W.
- I'll take Pablo Lopez 7 IP, 2 ER, 5 K over the other shenanigans going on.
- Taijuan Walker comes bearing gifts.
- Ronald Guzman (one) Do you remember him? He guided Leody Taveras (one) into the HR world.
- Like Laverne & Shirley, Max Muncy & Cody Bellinger are doing it their way. Nine HR, 20 RBI.
- He doesn't ring the Josh Bell (three) too often these days.
- Why would you expect a SB out of a 5-for-5 day from Trea Turner?
- There can be only one. Xander Bogaerts (seven HR/three SB) is victorious at his jousting duel. Combo Meal for everyone. **Sir, it's Medieval Times, not Burger King.
- Christian Walker (four) sends a postcard to let you know he still cares.
- Jo Adell, you were supposed to stop at 1 so we can rejoice your arrival. I guess we'll celebrate 2 angelic halos.
- Dylan Bundy (fourth win). There is no fear here, but I completely missed out.
- In a sea of mediocrity, Christian Yelich (eighth HR) continues to be your lighthouse.
- Endgame
- Trevor Rosenthal now in SD?
- Tyler Rogers (two).
- Ryan Pressly (six). Two in one day. Thank you.
- Matt Barnes (three)
- Kenley Jansen (nine).
- Gregory Soto (one). I prefer Jose Cisnero.
- Jeremy Jeffress (four).
- Craig Kimbrel (BS). This reminds me of the story of the frog & the scorpion.
- Jesse Hahn (one). Scott Barlow is the one.
- Brad Hand (10).
- Brandon Workman (seven).
- Aroldis Chapman w/ easy W.
- Ian Kennedy is not the one.
- Richard Rodriguez testing the security of his role.
- Josh Hader. No one is immune to the blowups. (0.1 IP, 2 ER, 5 BB?)
- It's Sunday. This is your day to rest, recover, & catch up on the list of things you wanted to be done during the week. Don't stress over them. Get out, enjoy the sun. Take in the cool fall breeze.
- Don't forget to work on your FAAB if you haven't already.
