Welcome to the Friday, August 30th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 30th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Aristides Aquino is amused by the simplicity of the game(14th HR). 12.7%Brls/PA. Surprisingly, only an 86.9mph avg exit velo
- Has everyone forgotten that Francisco Lindor first game wasn’t until April 20th? 25HR/19SB/.301AVG is very impressive.
- Jorge Soler w/37HR. 92.5mph avg exit velo is great(14th), 70.2%Contact rate.
- Mike Clevinger utterly confused the Tigers.
- Liam Hendriks is out of control. 36.1%K rate. 17th SV.
- Austin Meadows provides 24th crowd-pleaser. Great hard-hit rate (44%).
- Glenn Sparkmann. 4.1IP, 7ER, 1BB, 1K. This might be better than what I started.
- George Springer, thanks for the 28th dream-weaver. Will you be stealing any more bases?
- Jose Berrios demanded the W. He got it(11). 6IP, 3ER, 8K. Still in the third tier of starters (second at best) for 2020.
- Jake Cave doubles your enjoyment. 7R, 5HR, .333AVG last week.
- Please tell me you didn’t start Dylan Cease. 2IP, 8ER.
- Jon Berti doesn’t like to be typecast. Sixth long ball for your review.
- Jon Lester beat Jacob deGrom!! Don’t say that. It makes you look foolish.
- Victor Caratini also enjoys things in pairs. 5HR, 11RBI, .260AVG last month is respectable.
- I hope the Mets don’t mess w/J.D. Davis(18th tater) to start 2020.
- League-leading 37 steals is why you kept Mallex Smith.
- In 32 at-bats, he already has first HR & SB out of the way. Now Nick Solak can relax and play ball. Quality results will continue.
- Not a walker (5%), but 84.5%Contact will help maintain power(16HR) & AVG(.289) for Willie Calhoun.
- You’re gonna spoil me w/three saves in the month of August, Felipe Vázquez. Keep dominating.
- Chi Chi Gonzalez, somehow you make me happy to start Ryu.
- With three bad starts, don’t tell me Hyun-Jin Ryu needs an IL stint. 4.2IP, 7ER, 4K. Overall, we’re still winning.
- That Giant’s Milk is no joke. Justin Turner up to 25 dingers and counting.
- Wilmer Flores, can you talk to them about a regular spot in the lineup?
- Eduardo Escobar climbs to 30 long balls. 41.6%Chase rate still has me leery.
- Nothing like a Giants outing to cure the pitching woes. Chris Paddack w/7IP, 1ER, 8K.
- Have a great Friday. You started strong, finish strong.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
