Welcome to the April 30th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the April 29th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Shane McClanahan brings spunky freshness (4 IP, 2 ER, 5 K). 3 pitches. 59% Whiff rate on slider.
- Trey Mancini sends out his fifth contribution for support boosting my donation to a cancer charity to $50.
- Yankees reduces the number of hitters w/ AVG below .200 to 5.
- Gleyber Torres has five 2B, SB, & a .231 AVG. The 2.9 Brls/PA isn't pretty, but you're stuck.
- CANNONBALL! Brandon Lowe (four) drops from 431 feet.
- Matt Chapman (four), why are you laughing? Your .184 AVG isn't much better than Brandon Lowe's .167.
- No one is excited about Yadier Molina's injury, but Andrew Knizner is batting .304 in 23 AB.
- Roman Quinn with more SB (four) than hits (three). How badly do you need speed?
- David vs. Goliath! Eric Lauer outpitches Trevor Bauer & excels to elite status!! **Uh, stop these shenanigans. It doesn't work that way.**
- Yoan Moncada (three) tries on his new flying squirrel outfit. 380 feet away.
- Yusei Kikuchi befuddles Tucker-Alvarez-Brantley-less Astros. (7 IP, 2 BB, 7 K). True test is BAL next.
- Dylan Moore, are we waiting for anyone for you to start hitting? .104 AVG., 4SB.
- Carlos Rodon (4-0) feasting on that Island Green smoothie. 6 IP, 1 ER, 12 K. CIN next.
- Are we picking up steam? Marcell Ozuna with a second-straight game with moonshot.
- What?! Did you just scoff at Kris Bryant's .310 AVG.
- Dylan Cease dominates! 7 IP, 3 H, 9 K. Who's next?! **Psst, keep in mind it was DET** I don't care. Get ready, CIN. (32% Called & Swing Strike rate.)
- Admit it, you've thought about dropping Keston Hiura.
- No doubting it...Kyle Gibson is back. He's allowed only three runs in the last 33 innings. MIN/SEA next.
- Andrew Vaughn sighting. Excitement builds (3-for-5 w/ 2 x 2B). Excitement tempered (plays for White Sox)
- "Detroit, requesting a fly-by." Negative, Yermin Mercedes (five), the pattern is....BOOOOOOM!
- Terrible news! Matt Boyd was having a great season. 1 HR, 2.95 FIP in 35.2 IP. Of course, Murphy rears his ugly head & Boyd ends up with a knee injury. All we can do is Stand By.
Endgame
- Lou Trivino (four)
- Kendall Graveman (three)
- Liam Hendriks (five)
- Josh Hader (six)
- Ian Kennedy (five)
Closing Thoughts
- Good mornin', good mornin'. Yep, a short docket of games yesterday. I just wanted to take a few moments to thank everyone for reading my Mornin' Ramblings. I know they're very random or off the wall at times. Hopefully, you find them humorous, distracting from your daily stresses, & maybe even a little bit informative. Thanks again. Have a great Friday. Now get out there and thank someone for something they do for you.
