Welcome to the April 27th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the April 26th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Zach Plesac looked more respectable vs MIN (7.2 IP, 3 ER, 4 K). CWS next. And another one.
- If you order Corbin Burnes vs. MIA, you're not expecting 5 IP, 4 ER, 9 K. That's like ordering Jambalaya and getting linguine in it. Noodles?!
- Willson Contreras loves traveling along THUNDAH road. 456-footer = #7.
- Rhys Hoskins doesn't like chaos at the plate. MLB-leading eight fanatics bounced out of the yard.
- Jesse Winker (fifth HR) w/ 13.5% Barrels/PA. Batting .286 vs lefties, in case you're curious.
- Robbie Grossman steals a base to rekindle the memories. Of course, it's intriguing that C. Hernandez has more barrels/pa (6.6%) and hard hit rate (37%) than Grossman.
- Damn Carlos Santana puts on a good concert. He flicks his pick into the audience for the fifth time.
- Neither Brad Keller nor Spencer Turnbull is given any favors after today's quality outings. MIN & NYY next, respectively.
- Yes, Jordan Luplow has 6 HR, 14 RBI, and a .229 AVG that is pretty good by early 2021 standards.
- Everyone rushes to start Deivi Garcia (4 IP, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K) vs. BAL, but Matt Harvey was OBVIOUSLY the better pick vs NYY (6 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K). Are we sure 2021 is not 2020 in disguise?
- Kris Bryant laughs in the face of doubters. 6 HR, 32 R+RBI, .289 AVG.
- Sean Manaea is studly! 5 IP, 1 ER, 6 K. BAL next. Easy money.
- Sean Murphy with his second love letter. Don't worry, you'll be happy with him at the end. Buy low.
- Everyone quiet on the Randy Arozarena front. No victory-laps, for or against. 3 HR, 2 SB, .301 AVG this early in the season is a success. Exit velo is there (90th percentile), but Barrel % lagging (33rd percentile). Even warmer weather ahead.
- Remember those that drafted Ozzie Albies in the second/third round? Speed, some said. 1st SB to go w/ .169 AVG.
- Cedric Mullins (three) rolling with two Energizer batteries. He keeps going and going.
- Corey Seager nonchalantly cruises through In-N-Out burger & orders a protein-style COMBO MEAL! (fourth HR, first SB).
- Charlie Morton got you with the stink palm victory. He'll wash it off before TOR next.
- Ian Happ w/ 98 MPH exit velo (FB/LD). Don't give up on him.
- Trevor Rogers excels again. 6 IP, 7 K. Wish I had an investment.
- Keston Hiura is a wrestler. He just hasn't made prime time because he hasn't been able to put his signature move on that K rate (37%).
- We love our smooth Jazz in Louisiana. Chisholm will steal your heart two times over.
- Zack Wheeler (8 IP, 1 ER, 9 K) vs. Adam Wainwright (9 IP, 2 ER, 8 K) was magnificent.
- No, please don't tell me you had Jordan Lyles in your lineup (2 IP, 7 ER, 2 K)
- Free Nate Lowe movement continues. Only he's the one freeing things. 6th shot of freedom.
- Jose Altuve is back. Three-for-five, first SB, .347 AVG.
- Nick Castellanos (one) already passed his 2020 SB total.
- Hurry! I need a packet of Quick Clot immediately. Austin Gomber is bleeding out. 1.2 IP, 9 ER. Maybe it's ratios.
- Anthony DeSclafani singin' Disco Inferno during a complete game. Nine K.
Endgame
- Josh Staumont (two)
- Alex Colome. 3 pitches, 2 R allowed. How can he be in the mix?
- Emmanuel Clase w/ W. Thank you, kind sir.
- Cesar Valdez (five)
- Lou Trivino (three)
- Will Smith (five)
- Hector Neris (four)
- Ryan Pressly (two)
Closing Thoughts
- Good mornin', good mornin'. Tuesday is upon us. Don't forget the basics. Hydrate when you wake up. Workout. Rehydrate. Breakfast. Work. Be good to family & friends. We need to master the basics in life to be completely successful.
