Welcome to the July 26th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 25th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
-
- Kyle Schwarber rewards the draft helium w/424ft monster shot. Christian Yelich responds…and the ball could be heard screaming “MVPPPPPPP” as it left the yard (425ft). (Always got to be a one-up man.)
- Kris Bryant waiting on that first hit. No way you’re in the same class as hitless Jason Heyward, right?
- There is Edwin Diaz (BS). Blown save. Not what you were thinking.
- When Corbin Burnes stopped handing out free fast-passes to 1B, he got nasty. 3.1IP, 6K.
- Don’t hate on Yu Darvish’s line 4IP, 3ER, 5K. His support cast left a lot to be desired.
- Maybe James Paxton wasn’t ready. (1IP, 3ER)
- You ever see a bully pick on a little dude & lil dude knows BJJ? Bully gets whooped.
- In other news…O’s stomp BoSox; SF beats LAD. That’s what you get. You better RESPECT!
- Rafael Devers better get another hitting lesson from J.D. Martinez quick. 5K in 9AB, hitless. You’re not alone. Oh, don’t be mad that Odor has two more hits than you.
- Alex Verdugo gave Red Sox fans hope of a suitable Mookie Betts replacement. 3-for-4. (Spoiler alert: NOT a suitable Betts replacement)
- Martin Perez, it was the O’s at home.
- Ain’t no party like a ChiSox party cause a ChiSox party don’t stop….dropping the bass. 5 homers.
- Leury Garcia provides two long balls. & he’s on his way to adding 2B eligibility to SS/OF. More options. 5% owned if needed.
- Yes, the bouncy ball is back.
- Old faithful. Adam Wainwright provides what you were expecting. W vs. PIT. Sitting vs. MIL though.
- “Bryan Reynolds hasn’t got a hit yet?!” Woah. Or Whoa, if you prefer. He’s still a quality hitter. Don’t get your MeUndies in a bunch. (These ramblings are NOT sponsored by MeUndies.)
- Paul Goldschmidt flexing the guns for his first display of dominance.
- Short bursts of Kolten Wong atop STL lineup might be exciting.
- All is quiet on the Bo Bichette/Vlad Guerrero Jr. train. Bring on that Buffalo ballpark.
- I want to meet these 1%ers who have Phil Gosselin (2HR) owned. I have a few dollars if you’d play the lottery for me. Ok, scratch-offs at least.
- Caleb Smith loves Disney too. Handing out 6 fast-passes.
- YES!! Jean Segura got caught stealing. What don’t you get? At least he was trying. Positivity.
- Ozzie Albies, 0-for-9 is not very third round-worthy. Oh, you were drafted in the second rd in some leagues? My bad.
- Michael Conforto batting seventh?! Still scratching my head. 3-for-3 will show them.
- The cat is out of the bag. Dylan Bundy is everyone’s new darling. 6.2IP, 1ER, 0BB, 7K. We’ve been waiting since he was a prospect.
- Hmm, Tyler O’Neill. A few hits. Some power/speed. 4% owned. Watchlist.
- Why do I have the feeling the Astros are just gonna hit, run, and dominate? Altuve’s wheels are back.
- Even Martin Maldonado is hitting. 4% owned. Catcher upgrade.
- Kyle Lewis’ 358ft fly ball is enough for the second HR of the season.
- Lance McCullers wasn’t excellent, but W is good. LAA next.
- I guess Mike Yastrzemski (batting sixth) isn’t the team’s best hitter.
- Zach Wheeler had those new-baby tingles on the mound. W.
- Here comes the Will Smith (HR) love. Catcher love.
- Let’s check the leaderboard. Oooooh-weeee! My Man Corey Seager at the top. Five hits exceeding 95mph.
- Brady Singer shall not be intimidated. (5IP, 2ER, 7K). DET next. Get all the shares.
- Adalberto Mondesi is hitless. Hey. Don’t laugh. The season is young.
- Old-man strength on display: Joey Votto (2); Miguel Cabrera (1)
- Joe Jimenez gets save. 45% of pitches were balls. Not good.
- It is with great sorrow I report that Trea Turner is hitless. Yeah, so is Gleyber Torres, but I don’t own him anywhere.
- Giancarlo Stanton w/second tater. Overnight cryo-suit is working.
- The hate on Victor Robles' power must stop. POW!!! 366 feet homer.
- Tommy Pham (4SB) doesn’t need full season to get 20SB.
- We are all excited there is baseball going on. If your players are doing well or poor, just be happy that they're playing. Don't let that stress you out. Smile and be thankful.
